What Happened.....

to Fall?? 

It seems we went from a very hot summer straight into cold weather. I hope this does not mean lots and lots of snow for us in Southern Indiana!!

This card is one I did with my Advanced Card Class ladies. I wanted to show them how to create a different kind of card by making the top note cute out the card.

We used Orchard Harvest DSP, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake Card Stock, Natural 7/8" Cotton Ribbon, Naturals Designer Buttons, Word Window Punch, Teeny Tiny Wishes & Gently Falling Stamp Sets and my Big Shot with the Top Note Die.

Tips & Tricks: Fold your card stock in half and by placing the folded side slightly below the cutting blade on your die you will create a folded card. Very easy and very fun to create these in different shapes.

And creating the card in Crumb Cake Card Stock we placed it onto a card base. This way the top note die cut is the actual card.

Here is another one of the cards I did with my team at one of our monthly meetings. I gave them all the pieces and a sketch so they can come up with their own creation. My card below was my creation using these items. Like I have said I use the Color Coach for the color combo and a sketch I find. All they need to do is create a card using these items and they can add any neutral color, embellishments in these colors and use any stamp set they wish.

For my card I used Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze & Whisper White Card Stock, Calypso Coral 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, Natural 7/8" Cotton Ribbon, Blooming with Kindness & Friendly Phrases Stamp Sets and my Big Shot with the Chevron Embossing Folder.

This stamp set called Blooming with Kindness is one of my new favorites!! I just love that flower image and the best thing is if you just want that image you can now buy it all by itself as a Single Stamp. Stampin' Up! has released about 31 images as Single Stamps that are part of a stamp set right now until January 2nd, 2013. You can see all of them at my Online Store HERE. AND there are 3 Never Before Seen Single Stamps listed too!!

So Many Circles

Here is another one of my team meeting challenges. Remember this POST? I explained what I do with my team at our monthly meetings. These are the colors I gave them with a sketch to follow and my interpretation.

I used Old Olive, Night of Navy, Pretty in Pink & Whisper White Card Stock, Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Scallop Border, 1" Circle, 1 3/8" Circle & 3/4" Circle Punches, Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and my Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

Tips & Tricks: I used my circle punches to randomly punch circles in the Old Olive Card Stock and backed it with the different colors of cards stock. Easy!!

Thoughts of You

I started something new with my team members at our monthly team meeting and they are LOVING it!!! For the ones that show up at the meeting I give them a card challenge bag. The bag consists of enough material to create a card and usually a sketch to go by. I usually use the Color Coach to come up with a color combo, give them the card base and three 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" pieces of card stock in the three colors on the Color Coach for the base color. They are allowed to use any embellishments in those colors and can add one neutral color of their choice. 

If they participate with this challenge by either bringing their finished challenge card to the next months meeting or sharing it with us via our Yahoo Group they are eligible for a small prize. This is something extra I enjoy doing for those that can come to the meetings. They all are loving it and it keeps them creating!!

This card is from one of our past meetings. The color combo was Pacific Point, Baja Breeze & Rich Razzleberry. I used these colors plus Whisper White, Baja Breeze 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, Loving Thoughts & Reason to Smile Stamp Sets and my Big Shot with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.

I really loved this stamp set called Reason to Smile. Stampin' Up! ran a special in July where you could get this stamp set for only $5!! I wish they would do this more often!!

Happy Halloween!

Have you made your Halloween Cards yet? My Card Swap with my team last month was Halloween Cards. This is the card I created for this swap. I just love swapping with my team, so much creativity these gals have!! 

I used Very Vanilla & Tangerine Tango Card Stock, Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP, Basic Rhinestones, Seasonal Sayings Stamp Set and my Big Shot with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.

I just love the look of different colors on a stamped image. Want to know how I did this?? Check out my Tips & Tricks below.

 

Tips & Tricks: Using our fabulous Many Marvelous Markers you can achieve this look too!! I used the Basic Black and Tangerine Tango Markers to color on to my stamp using the "fat" end of the marker (there is a pen side too for journaling). I always make sure to use the side of the fat marker so I don't ruin the tip. After you are done coloring on to the stamp you will give it a good huff, this will remoisten the ink, and then you are ready stamp onto your card stock. Make sure to huff and not spit on to the stamp.

This card is also considered a Clean and Simple aka CAS card. I just love the simple cards!! So easy to mass produce!
